Message from the Founder
Assalamu Alaykum, Peace Be On You. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Habiganj Law College (HLC). In 2008, I along with my eldest son, Barrister Md. Shakhawat Hussain Khan, in association with a group of fellow lawyers started a journey to establish a Law College in Habiganj. I realized many people in my district town of Habiganj wanted to study law, a professional course, to pursue a career in legal profession. However, because of many obstacles like economic hardships, safe shelter away from home have been the reasons for them not to be able to live their dreams. As a Senior Lawyer of Habiganj District Bar Association and having successfully founded a secondary girl’s school in late 80s based in my village also in Habiganj, I felt I should do something which could change many people’s life otherwise not feasible. With the grace of Almighty Allah our relentless hard work have paid off and on 02 July 2011 the Habiganj Law College has been inaugurated through a formal ceremony, where Mr. Justice A.K.M. Fazlur Rahman, the Honourable Judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. It has been a very challenging journey but I feel satisfied when I see the students have become my colleagues at the bar association pursuing their carrier. A significant number of students are female who could not perhaps studied law if HLC not existed. I also humbly acknowledge the contribution and guidance of Mr. Mahbubey Alam, Senior Advocate & Attorney General for Bangladesh in establishment of Habiganj Law College.

Message from the Principal
LL.B. (Pass), a professional course, spanning two years, an exhaustive and demanding study. Among the prospective students, most of them intend to pursue Legal Practice, a highly challenging profession, as their future destiny. This course is a nice combination of pure academic, substantive law and procedural law. The Habiganj Law College, in short HLC, commits to ensure high quality education in affordable costs. We have dedicated number of teachers/resource persons, having the highest education in law from the well reputed Universities of home and abroad. In addition, most of them are regular legal practitioner, Advocate, in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, as well as, in the Court of District and Sessions Judge. Some of them are specialized practitioners in both civil and criminal matters. HLC offers 20 [twenty] classes, in addition 5 [five] revisional sessions in each subject of the course, which is 5 [five] days in a week. HLC has a library with reasonably good number of quality books on law to support students on their legal studies.However, we are in the process to enrich the library in every year, bit by bit. Our all-out effort will be successful if the students of the HLC, having completed their respective course, would find their desired destination in life and make some change in their lives and society. We aim to share knowledge and to uphold Rule of Law and Human Rights in the society at large.
